She is taking her time, I don't mind. Then, she is really, really taking her time like the queue is not long.
Observing how she does things. Rolled those colored papers, then put taped. Grab some plastic bag, tear it up, when she can not tear it up, grab a pair of scissors (which she had done in the first place). Then taped the plastic bag again.
With the students standing next to me, sighing, i was pouting my lips (mannerism when i wait too long). All i just to pay is the what I had photocopied.
That was the longest ten minutes of my life, yes, the cashier took ten minutes.
Oh well, maybe the cashier is a trainee, just maybe.
Have you had any experience with a "take-your-time" kind of cashier?

frequently, especially getting on buses where drivers struggle with the ticket machines and correct change for an eternity

Yes, sometimes I get a cashier that is beyond slow and I guess they figure they have to be there all day so the customers might as well be there too

Yes, and I feel even more sorry for the people waiting behind me.
