families that don't get along for stupid reasons...
This has been going on for a while now. Tony's daughter blocked him on Facebook last year. She had gotten in a tiff with her brother and his wife, assumed he would take her brother's side, and just blocked him. She eventually unblocked him, but they haven't really talked since.
Some time after that he saw that she had gotten engaged. He saw it on Facebook, and was really hurt that she hadn't told him directly.
Around the same time she decided she wasn't sending the granddaughters here for the summer after I had rearranged our vacation around her visit. He took that as disrespecting me that I only found out when I messaged her with our vacation dates.
Meanwhile, his phone somehow lost all his contact info, so he doesn't have her phone #, and he never added her back on Facebook.
Yesterday he was talking to his son and found out that she and her fiance had quietly gone off and gotten married.
Basically he's taking the position that she turned her back on him and the family, and is leaving it like that.
It makes me really sad though.

I think this is all just one misunderstanding over another. It should have been sorted out when it first happened. But usually people just chicken out and sometimes their prides get in the way. They shouldn't let it come between this. It isn't easy. I know. But so isn't losing a loved one. The choice is theirs to make.

@dawnald One of them has to make the move otherwise it will be too late and they will only be left with regret. Life is unpredictable as it is.

That is sad. My family with it's mental issues fight, argue, squabble and yell at one another. But we love eachother very much and would never block one of us.

That is really sad when family members don't get along. Hope things can still be settled.
