why do we let madison avenue tell us what we should look like

when you go to the grocery store, to church or to the mall everyone looks basically the same....not like a model. so why is it we see commercials or ads highlighting perfection that only a minority of people have. you only fit into 3 categories either you are too thin too fat or right in the middle not many of us are just right. If perfection was the standard the sizes in the store wouldn't go all the way up to XXL. when advertisers show "plus sized" models its so daring and new to everyone but i look around and they are the norm not a tyra banks or heidi klum. advertisers should show real men and women in ads instead of the fake standard of beauty only a small percentage have
