2005-6 Marvel – Spoiler alerts The House Of M was a Marvel Universe shake up event affecting all the major superheroes though especially the X-Men and the Avengers. The traumatized Scarlet Witch has a nervous breakdown and her sorcery changes reality for everyone. Various comics showed how the superheroes coped in the new reality she generated. Spiderman fares incredibly badly. The new World is dominated by mutants, who severely restrict activity for humans and heroes who were not born with their powers. Unfortunately, Peter Parker has been pretending to have been born with his powers despite being given them after a lab accident in his teens. When his diaries are released by J Jonah Jameson, Spiderman becomes a fugitive, aided by non-mutant supervillains, like The Vulture, and The Rhino. Parker / Spiderman lives now in a World where dead friends and family including Gwen Stacey and his Uncle Ben are still alive though his diaries refer to the World we know without them. Worse, Parker himself appears to be The Green Goblin as well as Spiderman. As his World falls apart, Parker senses that the most heroic thing he can do in this strange nightmare reality is to cease to exist. An interesting nightmare World with Magneto’s fascist regime running unchecked until the House Of M series is brought to its conclusion. Arthur Chappell

@arthurchappell never really been into all of these kinds of super heroes. I was always more of the Archie comics type.

I cannot say that I really like the Super Hero. This is a pretty sad story.
