For how many days will you wear the same jeans?

I know that some people "think ensemble" when they get dressed in the morning. But for jeans and t-shirt types, that just means finding a t-shirt that doesn't have holes in it, and maybe finding fresh tighty whiteys and socks. I realized this morning that the jeans I've been wearing have a very slight essence of woodworking chemicals, essence of Thai food, essence of little kid fart, and essence of coffee. Time to put them in the laundry. I'm not sure how many days I've been wearing them. Are you a "casual" dresser? For how many days will you wear the same pair of jeans before they make it to the laundry?

I mostly wear them till they look a bit dirty or until I suddenly realise I've been wearing them for yonks.

I wear my jeans 2-3 times before washing. Sometimes sooner or later depending because not always I wear my jeans for a long time.

Usually I'll wear them a couple of times. I heard recently that you're not supposed to wash jeans...but I can't imagine that.

@DaddyEvil Did you read the article where Levi's CEO says not to wash your jeans? - You can spot clean your jeans lol. In my household we wash our jeans and air dry outside then in the dryer we use the air function so it isn't hot.

@TheHorse Okay, quit trying to hug everyone in the posh clubs... or where ever! @kamel622 @infatuatedbby Jeans are supposed to be washed as little as physically possible to preserve fit and color. Jeans manufacturers will tell you to turn your jeans inside out, put them into your washer in warm water on the gentle cycle and use a soap like Dr. Bronner's. It is a very mild soap that does not suds up suitable for Denim, your hair and your skin. Stop your washer one minute after the spin cycle has started. (This keeps the machine from stretching your jeans or knocking out the blue dye. It also can damage the cloth fibers if allowed to spin for the full cycle.) Do NOT put jeans into a dryer! The very best way to dry jeans is by hanging them over your shower rod and allow to dry about 90% of the way... Slip them on and let them finish drying while you are wearing them. They take on your personal shape and are more comfortable when you next wear them... I guess you are supposed to take them off when they are dry and hang them up? I have put my jeans on before they are quite dry before and they do fit better than when they went through the dryer...

jeans can be 1-5 days, depending on how much I spill and how hot it has been!

Despite working in an office environment I dress very casually. To be honest I can't remember how many times I've worn the jeans I'm currently wearing since they were last washed. I suspect I've worn them for about five or six days. The problem I have is that I hate the feel of freshly washed jeans. They're just not comfortable. If they don't smell then they're fit for wearing!!

If we are burning leaves or rubbish we'll wear the same clothes for several days till we finish burning then put them in the wash. The smoky smell gets into the fabric so rather than have several smelly pairs we keep the same ones till the job is finished.

@TheHorse It stems back to when I was a kid. Mom made me wear the same dress to school two days in a row. I vowed I would never wear the same clothes two days in a row as soon as I had control over my wardrobe.

Since I don't work, I do wear mine for about a week, before they go into the laundry I do take showers during that time fo course, but my clothes don't get that dirty, unless I spill food on them and such, and then I change them. I do change my underwear though, as to me that is much more important than the outside.

@TheHorse Those are vert giid snells for sure. I sweat in certtain areas, which I won't mention, so therefore, I have to take enough showers, but I don't always put on clean clothes. I don't have all that many, so I have to wear them for a week, and then change to something else. I only wash when I need clean clothes.

How many times I put on the same pair of jeans depends on how long I was wearing them when I last took them off. I don't wear jeans to work and unless we need to go somewhere after I get off work, I wear jammy shorts around our house. So my jeans may see casual wear on my days off each week. (figure 4 hours total wearing jeans on each day I am off work. possibly one hour total each day we need to go somewhere on days I work.) Looking at my wear that way, I will wear the same jeans two weeks before they make it into the laundry... If I can smell my jeans before I put them on, then I would had to have been wearing them MUCH longer than two weeks! (grinning at you!)

Your climate allows you all to do that...in India the stink will start within half a day! lol Especially if you like spicy food like me. lol. But many people here wear jeans without washing several times, after giving them a sun bath after every use.

@vandana7 No, actually, vanny, my genetics allow me to wear clothes that long without them stinking... well, of ME, at least! LOL! Some people have a gene that means we don't produce the protein that is present in sweat that microbes eat which produce the sour odor(s) associated with sweat!

I wear them until they look dirty or not quite right. Three days is about the limit, sometimes four if I don't have laundry quarters.

Like Judy Evans, I go yonks too. I really didn't want to say how long I wear them, but I only have one pair and during the winter I wear them for a couple of hours in the morning, and my two days off. If it's warmer in the house, I'll leave my pj's on longer and do them in my weekly load, but when it's cold I cannot.

My sister would be the right one to answer the question. She did not wash a pair of jeans for a whole year! That created some sort of family history. As for me, I normally wash the jeans after I have worn in three days.
