Budennovsk, Russian Federation

This photo was taken several years ago in spring days. I was studying at the University and had enough free time on the weekends. To the right is one of the the bridges across the city reservoir. Fishermen use this small sea wall very often. I fished there with my grandfather too while being a child. The atmosphere of the photo seems to be gloomy. The city is Voronezh - the cradle of Russian navy. Peter I founded first dockyards there and this is my home city.

This is also a wonderful photo, it's incredible how dark are the clouds and bright the sun.

How many German words have been included into the Russian language during the reign of Peter I? I can think of six offhand.

@TypicalRussian Familie and Salve don't count. Both come from Latin. Btw, it's Familienname, not Familie. One of the tricky words for Germans who learn Russian and the other way round. I was thinking of Butterbrot, Schlagbaum, Landschaft, Maßstab, Leutnant, Backenbart, Friseur (Parikmacher).

I'm surprised. I thought Peter I did everything in Petersburg.

quotation from Wikipedia "In the 17th century, Voronezh gradually evolved into a sizable town. Weronecz is shown on the Worona river in Resania in Joan Blaeu's map of 1645.[20] Peter the Great built a dockyard in Voronezh where the Azov Flotilla was constructed for the Azov campaigns in 1695 and 1696. This fleet, the first ever built in Russia, included the first Russian ship of the line, Goto Predestinatsia".
