When you talk to people about inter marriages most people will tell you that we are in the 21st centry and should not have issues with it but my point is this my sister married into a different culture and so many issues have come up since she was brought up differently it has reached to a point where she is thinking of a separation.

@Biikiki Marraige is also about compromise, don't know about other society...but in our Indian society, inter-caste marraiges do happen..people from different cultural background ties knot, but one need to have tremendous amount of patience & hve to compromise a hell lot...in our society, it's just not 2 individuals, but an entire family who gets involved.

True but I think once you fall inlove with someone from a different culture its important to do some research on that persons culture coz there some traditions you really cant comprise on. Like in my country there are some communities that circumcise their women and if this does not exsit in your culture how do you compromise on that

My husband is black and I am white. We have been married for nearly 27 years. We are both Americans, but grew up very differently. It has never been a problem.
