Reflections challenge

Ducks by Frances

This is my photo for Judy's @judyev challenge of reflection photos. I took it last year at the river at Morpeth in Northumberland. It was during one of the many days I go out with my dad. It was a lovely peaceful day.

They're mallards aren't they? But without the bright green heads as it must be outside the breeding season.

@jaboUK They look like them to me, but their heads look a bit 'motheaten' so I expect they are moulting

The mallard is a large and heavy looking duck. It has a long body and a long and broad bill.

Aww, cute little ducks. I wonder if they know their own reflections, or if they think they're just other ducks. Or maybe they just don't notice them!

I think it might be harder to see the reflectin if you're right above it, other viewers get the full benefit.

You shouldn't hold the blyth part against us .... Sorry I couldn't resist, whilst blyth is actually a nice town it's known for being one of the rougher parts of Northumberland

I like reflections of birds. This is lovely. I have a nice one somewhere of a pelican. I must see if I can find it.
