Winter has me Blue

I am wondering, if you're like me, that is, you really hate the cold and winter gets you down, what are some of the things you do to fight the winter time blues? During the winter I don't go anywhere except work and back. I work at a Walmart so when I need groceries or other things I just pick them up after work before I leave. I really have a hard time tolerating the cold and I walk everywhere because I can't afford the upkeep on a car. So, in the winter, when it's cold, I don't leave my house unless I have to. Problem is, it gets real depressing sometimes. When you feel the wintertime blues creeping in, what do you do to get rid of them?

Well I'm on a bowling league during the winter which is every Sunday evening so that's what I do during the winter. Most of the time I just work and come home or go to my boyfriends. If it's not stupidly cold then we will go to the movies or something but mostly just stay home. I can't stand winter as my asthma is the worse and I have a weak immune system so I get sick alot during the winter months.

Hopefully someday I will be able to live some place that has mild or warm winters and that doesn't get snow.

@Dreamer93 It is funny that people here wish for snow, while you wish to live in a place that does not have snow.

@silvermist wrote, It is warm and sunny. Shut up! - I am only joking. I cope by trying to have a sense of humour about the winter but it doesn't always come across as such even if you write only joking?

Apparently lack of sunlight which can or might not be an issue depending on where we live can also be a factor in winter. I guess even though the sun has been published as harmful it also has some benefits in moderation. The point is it is real and not something we just make up.

We don't have snow here so don't experience days and days of depressing weather. Do you have any hobbies? If you had something to look forward to after work the time might go a bit faster. Can you play games online that would make you feel a bit connected to other people? Do you have friends that don't mind going out and could visit and play cards or board games occasionally? I hope you find something that works.

Believe it or not I used to be just like you I hated the winter with a passion. I actually said it was the devils curse. Then this year we didn't get snow until December 26th, the day after my little girl was born. And it hasn't been as cold as normal either. So now I am actually starting to like the winter. I go out for walks and try to be more social in order to keep me from falling into those winter blues.

I also hate that cold weather.the only thing I like that cold season is that I can see the snow sometimes. it is so beautiful except for that nothing I have nothing like to that cold season. The only thing I would like to do is just staying at home.

I try not to think too much about the cold weather even if it's really unbearable. Dreaming of hot and toasty summer days, wearing light clothing and sandals or flip flops. Thinking of winter blues will make anyone become upset at what life is offering...Carry on and think good thoughts!
