Back When Television Was Good...

Lately I have been re-watching Walker, Texas Ranger episodes. I frequently watch older televisions shows. There are few current shows that I enjoy, but I enjoy most of the older shows more. I love The Dukes of Hazzard, MacGuyver, Fantasy Island, just to name a few... I even like some of the old black and white shows such as Leave it to Beaver and The Andy Griffith show. Do you ever enjoy older television shows?

Some older programmes are much better than new ones. I must admit not to liking American television too much as there seems to be adverts galore every five or ten minutes or so. I never watch it if I am on holiday in the USA as there is far too much to see and do.

@Dreamer93 Thats a great idea. Here if you are watching live then you will get the adverts on some channels. The BBC do not have adverts as we pay for the license to run the BBC.

I don't see commercials (adverts) when I watch television shows because I do not watch them, in the normal way, on television. I watch tv shows either on dvd, or on the Internet. When you watch a show online, you can do it without the commercials. :)

The Andy Griffith show was fun to watch. Did you ever watch "My 3 Sons"?

I enjoy many of the older shows much more than some of the tired tripe that passes for entertainment today. A colleague and I were just discussing Fantasy Island this morning.

We sometimes watch the older stuff, I remember many of them from my childhood. The shows they put out today are mostly garbage in my opinion.

I love old TV shows. That's all that I watch on TV, unless if it's Dogs 101, or cooking shows with the wife, or sport events. But, The Leave it to Beaver, The Andy Griffith TV show I love also. I just got through watching Andy Griffith on TVland tonight. Great shows.

I think many of the older shows were really good. Ages ago now, we watched a few episodes of 'F Troop' and laughed our heads off. It's dated now of course but we still enjoyed it.

Sometimes, yes, though they often seem dated

Yes I do. I frequent ME-TV and Insp TV which show numerous old shows. I like westerns like Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Wagon Train and The Virginian.
