Southwest Airlines Giveaway or Not?

The world is full of gullible people. Everyone wants to win. The public reads something and feels the need to share it with the world.
One of my pet peeves on Facebook is the number of inaccuracies that are shared by people who should do a little research before clicking like...or even worse...share.
This morning I was greeted with this offer, comment and share to win first class tickets to anywhere with Southwest Airlines. My first reaction was to open a tab and Google. No, it is a scam. That took me all of two seconds to discover.
Yesterday a young mother shared a news bulletin. A virus causing severe respiratory distress in young children had been found locally. I clicked on the article...yes it was an accurate newspaper report......that was two years old.
The missing persons report. Yes I googled that as well. The person was found....six months ago.
Please, please.....check the facts before you share.

@Morleyhunt Hoping it's true I guess. I wonder why some scam keep being run and I guess it's people hoping they'll get something for no effort.

Oh lets not forget the Facebook accounts are being hijacked and people are opening new accounts in your name. Oh really? Give me an aspirin please, I have a headache!!

I spend very little time on Facebook so I have not seen these scams. The people I follow are people I know well - this also keeps unwanted information away.

I only follow people I know, but still some are just too lazy to check the information before they share.

I have learned to be skeptical of most of the shared information on Facebook.
