Gusty Day

It's been a gusty day outside. Temperatures have been above 60 degrees which is very mild for February. However, wind gusts have been up to 50 miles per hour. Trash cans have been flying. Trees have been swaying. My hat sailed off of my head. I was able to retrieve it after a short run. Tomorrow the winds will die down some and it should be a wonderful day.

We had the gusty winds yesterday, it was awful. Over one of the passes near me the wind gusts were up to 148 mph, incredible. We also got some rain in the valleys and more snow in the higher elevations. Looking forward to the warmer weather. Yesterday we tied a record high of 62, not common for February, would have been enjoyable if not for the wind. We are looking at 50 degree weather for the weekend, should finish melting the rest of the snow at the house.

48 mph sounds gusty. 148 mph is an incredibly strong hurricane. Perhaps this is off just a little bit.

@zebra2222, it isn't official yet I guess, the national weather service still has to verify, but it's expected to hold up. Here is the news link we were having hurricane type winds here in CO yesterday.

It's a sign of just how strong the winds blowing over Colorado have been as a powerful jet stream passed overhead.

There's been high winds every where today it seems. Here it was 40 degrees today with no wind but still cold from all the snow we have gotten. Supposed to be 52 and windy tomorrow so that should be fun

We rarely have strong winds here. I always feel so silly chasing my hat. I usually try to put my foot on it then pick it up.
