I was scammed.

Recently I posted about getting a puppy. I was getting a four month old pomeranian who I named Ollie Bea and was super attached to. Yesterday, as i went to arrange her travel to me, something didnt settle well with me. So while i was at work, my husband checked out the situation. We realized that we were being scammed. My little white cotton ball with a face Ollie wasn't real. It broke my heart, and my husband's. I know she wasnt real, but to us she was. It feels like we lost a pet even though we never actually owned her. When we said we were no longer interested, they called me heartless..really? I'm not heartless. So moral of the story is, beware of being scammed. Be very cautious. The scam was that this lady wanted to get rid of her dog because her husband had cancer. She wanted 350$ to go to a puppy travel agency and fly the dog to me. When the agency contacted me they would only accept cash or a money gram. When i told them i wanted to discuss it with my husband, they would not let me speak anymore. they kept talking over me and and were starting to give off the wrong vibe. A lady i work with said that a month ago the same thing happened to her. She sent them money and never got a puppy

the scam was that they only wanted to accept cash for me to buy a plane ticket. they claimed to be in maryland and wanted to fly her out to me. when they kept calling me they wouldn't let me talk for myself, they spoke over me, and were very clear they would only accept cash or a money gram. when i told them i knew they were scamming me i never heard back from them

@danicapaige You did the right thing. The first sign such a thing might be a scam is a demand for cash up front.

I think the moral of this this go to the local shelter and find a real dog to love who needs a good home. I am glad you didn't send them the money.

That is terrible. Wasn't it lucky that you found out first or you would have lost all that money? I hope you find another 'real' puppy somewhere.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. If you are interested in a Pomeranian, either a puppy or adopting an older dog, please visit this site for the national club - , and this one for their FB page - https://www.facebook.com/AmericanPomeranianClub/ - and learn about reputable breeders and breed rescue organizations in your area. If you are interested in adopting a rescued Pomeranian, the national club has a site you can contact to learn about local rescues in your area - http://americanpomeranianclub.org/rescue.htm Please use these resources should you decide to adopt a Pomeranian puppy or rescue a Pomeranian that is in need of a loving and caring furever home. Should you want to consider a different breed, all AKC pure breeds have a parent club similar to the one for Pomeranians and I strongly urge you to visit their sites to learn more about the breed, how to find reputable breeders, and the options available for rescue.
