Day 9 – Questions Job 7 There isn’t a single person who doesn’t ask questions. It’s something we do and have done from the moment we started talking. We asked so many questions our mom or dad got tired of answering them. Isn’t it a good thing God doesn’t tire of our questions? Job had questions, lots of them. His main question was why God didn’t allow him to die. He was going through so much torment and agony he begged God to let him die. However, he acknowledged that man has an appointed time. Another question he had, was similar to one David asked. Job 7:17 What is man, that thou should magnify him? And that thou should set thine heart upon him? 18 And that thou should visit him every morning, and try him every moment? Psalm 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visit him? Aren’t those also our questions? When trouble comes our way, when we are too ill to think or do anything but lie in bed we question God. We want to know. The child in us wants to know. Isn’t it enough that God doesn’t allow us to die? Isn’t it enough to know that God cares about us? Paul said: 1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. One day all our questions will be answered and we will know why God didn’t allow us to die when our lives looked hopeless. We will be able to look back and see God’s hand of love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness on us, and we will know His infinite love for us. Right now the glass is cloudy, we see only blurred images, but one day, we will see Jesus face to face and all our questions will be answered. What a glorious day that will be. Let’s pray: Father, I have many questions. I give You praise that You do not tire of my questions, but You hear all of them. Help me to see Your hand on my life in the midst of all my questions. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 27 February 2016 by Valerie Jean Routhieaux All scripture is King James Version, edited by me into common English. Image courtesy of Pixabay

No God never tires of us questioning him. Never get angry when we blame him, bad mouth him. Never lose his patience with us. Never stops loving us. Never fails to carry us in our tough times. Never asks anything from us.

The question I will ask god is, dear god almighty, I never made a two your old girl carry my suitcase filled with 20 kilos clothes because I considered her to be a child, and incapable of handling that...I simply had that much logic...nobody had to teach me that. So almighty when you give me tough stuff, knowing fully well how badly handicapped I am or was physically, and / mentally, then aren't you doing something like making a 2 year old carry a suitcase weighing 20 kilos? Where is the logic in that almighty? This is the reason I bad mouth you sometimes. But for the rest of the time, we are good, especially when I get to eat beautiful pomegranate seeds at 2 am.

@just4him Another thing, you're not meant to go through these trials solo. i.e. carry the 20kg suitcase yourself. You can and should always ask for help from the above. You won't be disappointed. @vandana7 I always try to fashion mine after the serenity prayer. It opens with accepting the things I can't change. Some people tend to think, God should do thy bidding, and change everything for you. Otherwise, what's the point. Yet, life is full of things we can't change, accepting those is part of life itself. But you can ask and will receive moral support at all times. And that is the key difference.

@vandana7 We are told to help people with their burdens - the 20 kg suitcase. Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (KJV)

So many people do not understand God will never give us more than we can carry. 1 Corinthians 10:13 You have been put to no test but such as is common to man: and God is true, who will not let any test come on you which you are not able to undergo; but he will make with the test a way out of it, so that you may be able to go through it.
