No ... NOT of the barrel... lol's ... but the bottom of boats.... all will become clear.... read on.... As some of you know ... I live with some friends on the sunny Mediterranean coast of spain, in a sleepy little fishing village. Today we went for a walk down the port area of the sea front, it was very nice, there was a strong breeze, but we were quite sheltered from it really, the sun was shining it was very pleasant, we saw the fishing boats coming in, and saw a couple of boats out on the dry dock having some work done. here is a link to a slideshow.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvfPPOYVV3o&f The fishing fleet, while smaller than what it used to be, is still going quite well.... and supplies many local restaurants with fresh sea food.... its interesting to watch the fleet come in... closely followed by the birds, and then unloading, and the men looking after the nets and clearing away the crab cages. The boat yard keeps the fishing boats in good repair....., one of the things they have done quite regular, is have their bottoms scraped, they clean them, and repaint and treat them with something that stops sea weed and barnacles attaching themselves, and keeping the propeller shaft clear. there is a variety of boats ... some wooden, some metal, some little sailing boats ... right through to multi million dollar yachts. we had a good walk, and some clean fresh air,... did you manage to get out for a walk... or is it too snowy in your neck of the woods. ??

what a treat 'n so glad to hear ya were sheltered from the winds. not so fortunate'n these parts fer such 'less one's indoors the past few days. seems we missed a front that promised rain 'n got the wind 'nstead :( but, 'twas warm fer this time'f year. i believe it got up to 68 degrees today? quite chilly'n the shade. what a beautiful vista ya got laid out 'fore ya. most interestin' that they tend to the boats's they do. no doubt a necessity to keep 'em runnin' proper :) big hugs 'n love!

@sueznewz2 this's part'f why i dislike early through mid-spring...e'en when such comes early like it seems to've done this year. the winds jest howl most've the day. like they're doin' right now, lol. makes cleanin' corrals most unpleasant! we get that rise'n fall'f temp 's well, dependin' which way the winds blowin'. also effects our chances'f moisture. we've been'n the back side'f several storm fronts lately - all'f which've missed us to the north. screws up my body/mind's well these days. danged schtuff. big hugs 'n love!

thanks @crazyhorseladycx yes it does help keep them running.... trouble free.... sorry to hear you've had strong winds... a couple of times the wind has been cool ... enough to put a hoodie on or other similar jacket.... but it sometimes only lasts a couple of hours and then the wind swings round and the temperature rises.... it depends on if the wind is coming in from the sea... or the mountains behind us ...lol's ... love n hugs ...

I'd love to see that up close. I loved your video photo show. When I was young we would go to the east coast of Canada and buy fish right off the piers.

@sueznewz2 It is thankfully. Winter always seems to be the longest season for some reason.

@fishtiger58 I think it probably is the longest season.... and I think it 'Feels' longer because of reduced daylight hours... and the sun is hidden behind clouds ect.....

The day is warm with slight breeze. A great day for walking! Is it interesting to live in a fishing village?

That sounds like a nice place to live and to watch the boats come in with their catch. It is way to cold for me to walk or even try and this morning it was raining and then that turned to snow, when it stopped snowing it became windy.

That was such a nice and refreshing slideshow. And of course I AM comparing that to what a walk in our area would be like, its not that sunny nor spring-like yet. Very nice.
