My son has a friend from school that was born on February 29, 1996 and is turning 20 today. Through out the years, he has joked about not being able to celebrate his actual birthday each year but only every 4 years. Today it was cute on Facebook. His Mom wished him a happy 5th birthday, ha ha. Get it? In the past 20 years, leap day has only happened 5 times, ha ha. I remember a boy from my elementary school whose birthday was February 29th. I always remember thinking it was kind of sad that he couldn't celebrate his birthday on the exact day each year. But, oh well, that is just how it is. I know some celebrate it on Feb. 28 or March 1. I wish all of you out there in the world today who was born on February 29th a wonderful , exciting birthday today!

I'm sure those born on today's date celebrate just as well the day before or after.

It doesn't seem fair for the people who were born on the 29th of February,

@LeaPea2417 in 1957 there were 28 days in February and my dad was keeping his fingers crossed that I would be born on March 1 so that I could start off the new month. He got his wish and my B-day is tomorrow. Hope your friend had a great birthday just the same.

The Leap Year children will always be something special which may be a compensation for celebrating on the day before or after their actual birthday.

I don't know anyone born on Feb. 29, but I'm sure they celebrate yearly. Cute story!
