Today, facebook is number one social media site. It was built on the idea of myspace, however, facebook became one of the biggest company and myspace is in the dark corner. Once there was a social site called Hi5 just like facebook, don't know if it still exist.

How about you mention friendster, it was also big before facebook. Then there was also tagged.com and I dont know about the others.
