Tonight we had sweet and sour chicken. We got it out of the American Heart Association cookbook. The only thing they wanted we didn't have was cranberry sauce, we put a half a cup of cran-cherry juice in instead. They wanted the sauce thickened with corn starch, like that was going to happen, we used some flour. It really didn't thicken up, but it tasted great. Had a can of pineapple chunks in it, the roomie got all of them, I don't like pineapple. The breast, they wanted 4, we had one that we split between us, it was huge! A half a cup of rice and about a cup and a bit of Brussel Sprouts. The roomie's fruit was the pineapple, I figure out something later, when I'm not quite so full! This one is a keeper. The problem with diets, according to the roomie, is boredom. I have a much higher threshold of boredom with food. Gads I'm STUFFED!

There are so many healthy alternatives and so many ways to cook said alternatives. I don't see how it could ever get boring. Pricey maybe, but not boring.

yeah... it was a pretty expensive shopping trip to get the stuff we needed for the diet... $250 and we bought NO meat.

Good you are stuffed El. That is good and with good food too. I find brussels quite filling. I eat a lot of them, nearly every day.

I like them, but they are probably about my least favorite "educated cabbage"

Boredom does often lead me astray on different food directions.

That's too bad. I can pretty much read a recipe and tell if I won't like it, but those are pretty few and far between. Almost any recipe can be adapted to the point I'd like it. For example, I hate raw or even partially cooked celery, and I hate peas, but they can be left out easily most of the time.
