Birds already Nest Making

Spring is not even here (date wise at least) but birds that frequent our yaard and bird feeders are already making nests. My brother-in-law has spotted at least two nests being built with one that in his opinion is not in a very safe place for this sparrow family. It is interesting to already see nests being built and it can make you wonder what the birds know that we don't. Perhaps that spring is already here and there will be no more freezes (though we have already have a lot fewer days of freezing weather than normal). Anyway I look forward to checking some of the more common nesting places in our yard and see how many different speicies nest here this year.

But you live in Florida, that's very different than here in Ontario.

It is generally late March before they start building nests here. this the earliest we have seen.

I think Mother Nature sometimes fools even the birds!

That is good that the birds feel it is nice enough to start building their nest. Here it is still to cold but I have seen a couple of birds in a tree and I even heard a few Canadan Geese honking the other day but nothing now.

It's been so warm here for winter, I don't think our geese even left. I've seen them all winter. I've also heard a lot more chirping going on. So we could be in for an early spring. It wouldn't surprise me.

Sounds like they know something we don't. Maybe Spring is closer than we think. At least with no leaves on the trees, you can see where the nests are.

I've always believed that the birds know more than we know when it comes to weather.
