Spring is not even here (date wise at least) but birds that frequent our yaard and bird feeders are already making nests. My brother-in-law has spotted at least two nests being built with one that in his opinion is not in a very safe place for this sparrow family.
It is interesting to already see nests being built and it can make you wonder what the birds know that we don't. Perhaps that spring is already here and there will be no more freezes (though we have already have a lot fewer days of freezing weather than normal). Anyway I look forward to checking some of the more common nesting places in our yard and see how many different speicies nest here this year.

It is generally late March before they start building nests here. this the earliest we have seen.

I've always believed that the birds know more than we know when it comes to weather.
