John Kasich For Vice President

Donald Trump said he wants a "political person" to be his running mate. After watching one of the debates, I think the best running mate may be standing next to him, and his name is John Kasich. Governor Kasich has remained calm during all of the foolish trash talk going on in the campaign. He has a solid record in government both at the national and state level, and he would be extremely useful in the White House. Also, he will help Trump win in Ohio and the swing states in the Midwest. What do you think? Is Kasich a good choice for Vice President

The interesting question at the moment is: Is Trump a good choice for President? All other topics are of minor importance.

No, the choice of VP running mate is very relevant. Whom he selects shows judgement. Obama showed shrewd sense picking Biden who has much experience. I am curious. You are so outspoken about our election. I would like to know your feelings about Angela Merkel and the current crisis in Germany.

@JohnRoberts Thank you for your interest. But this site is not the right place to discuss complex issues. A comment box doesn't offer enough space. I'm outspoken about your election because the rest of the world will be affected. I doubt, however, that the USA will be affected by the current crisis in Germany( I gather that you mean the refugees).

@MALUSE Yes, the US is affected by Germany's refugee situation. Germany taking them in is celebrated by the liberal left and used to gather support for the US taking in refugees. Germany is used as an example of a "good" country whose example the US should follow.

Well, I'm on the more liberal side of things this year. But out of all of the Republicans, Kasich seems to be the only one with a level head.

Like Carson, he hasn't descended into the adolescent vulgarity and that does speak volumes in his favor. Unfortunately Carson, for all his educations, has some nutty ideas. None of the candidates on either side of the aisle excites me. I can see myself writing in Sanders if all else fails.

He is decent for a politician and exceptional for the Republican party. I could live with him being Trumps replacement after he gets impeached.......for when Trump gets elected President in the hypothetical world.

I have a suspicion the VP slot is what Kasich is angling for. He refuses to get into mudslinging or attack Trump. I don't care for him but he would bring that balance of experience and calm demeanor. You are right Kasich would help in the Midwest where Trump is weak.
