I live in the country in Florida. The birds also live here. Right now, I hear a woodpecker drilling our tree in the front yard. He is hunting for a late breakfast. Sometimes, a crazy mockingbird pecks our roof. No one knows why. In the early morning, I hear doves cooing and sometimes owls hooting. Other times, a flash of color tells me that the hummingbirds have arrived. The big birds rule around here. Four foot tall Sand Hill Cranes walk about wherever they want. They are endangered, so no one bothers them. Curlews are smaller birds about the size of the egrets and ibises running around. This is a picture of an ibis invasion on our street.

There were a lot more that day. This is what I took a photo of after I got my phone camera going and then trying to get the birds from the front. I don't think they wanted their picture taken. I had many more birds in the photo but they were so little you could not see them well. I had to crop it so the birds showed up big enough so some of them did not make it.

It sounds like bird heaven where you live. Interesting to see those ibises.

We have a lot of migrating ibis which frequent our paddocks from time to time. Four feet is pretty tall for a bird.

They are a little scary but they are okay as long as you don't bother them. We take photos but keep away from them otherwise.

@akalinus It's like that with quite a few wild creatures I think. Keep away from them and they'll not bother you.

I bet that's a site to see. I sure do love birds but we don't have nearly that many types here
