The Same Blood Pressure Each Day ?

My blood pressure is always on the normal level. Usually , it’s 100 / 70 or 110 /80 or 120/80 . If ever it goes up , like 120 /90 , which is a bit of a high blood since the diastolic is at 90 , it would go down the next day . The other Monday , the nurse who takes our BP everyday , would tell me that it’s 110 / 90 and that was until Wednesday . I was worried . so I had my BP taken at the Pharmacy Wednesday night when I passed by there and it was 110 / 80 . So the next days, I had my BP taken by a nurse but working at the accounting Dept. and it’s at 100 /80 or 110 /70 or 110 / 80 . But then the regular nurse says it's still at 110/90 when i let him take it. Because of that , I don’t have my BP taken by him anymore the next days. Would you be worried if your BP is always the same and it’s a bit of high blood , yet others would take it as in normal levels ?

my normal BP should be and always at 90/60 or 90/50, and not reach 120/80 because that is hypertension for me. my BP should always be that low because it does not create a cardiac problem, unfortunately, as I have RHD

@ridingbet Indeed , they can err taking your right BP . So it's understandable that they don't want to take it . Oh that's a lot for your maintenance medication . So take care .

@SIMPLYD I taught my sister the proper way of taking one's BP when I was dazzled on the night of 2nd of March before I was brought to the hospital. even when I was confined, i told my son and sister to observe the nurses how they read the BP apparatus; they are both afraid though, so it is only I who knows how to take BP. I do not take my own BP my lady. I have a maintenance medication Carvedilol 6.25mgs -1/2 tablet twice a day. it is for my heart and it has antihypertensive action too. I also take a diuretic before lunch at 1/2 tablet of Spironolactone, so I expect my BP to be low; errr, normal for me.

I have the same blood pressure and it's my normal. i'm not really worried about my BP yet because i don't feel any symptom of hypertension.

Yes, same here . That's why i was doubtful of the nurse's reading for the past 3 days , i decided to have another one taken by a nursing graduate at the office everytime he says that . And sure enough , it is on the normal . I hate to admit it but from time on , i don't want my BP taken by that nurse anymore . Most of his readings for my officemates are too high when they don't even feel unusual .

@yalul070 So the nurse in their company has a high reading . Maybe he gets excited seeing the nurse . Hmm , so real nurses reads BP conservatively , meaning a bit higher .

@SIMPLYD i have a different case with my husband. I can also read BP and everytime he asks me to get his BP i usually read 120/80 or 110/70 or within that range. he doesn't believe me because he said his BP is higher when their company nurse takes it. I said maybe because he was tired or he just had a physical activity. Everytime I take his, he's just lying in bed. Anyway, he still doesn't believe my readings, he accuses me of tempering it so he wouldn't be alarmed (like, why would I do that?) but he still asks me from time to time to do it. Husbands!

nurses, when i was in the hospital, do get it at least once a day for over a year and it has been at a normal level. but theres this one time, i asked the nurse to do it on my left arm due to my IV on the right. she was a bit worried cause it was a bit high so she did it on my right and it was normal. i find it weird that both sides of my body has 2 different BP

Until and unless the blood pressure readings are abnormally high/low, there should be no cause for worry, in my view.

@SIMPLYD - You should not worry when your don't feel any abnormality in your health conditions such as headache or heaviness etc. In that case you need to get your BP measured.

That is good . Unlike me , i get frantic when my BP gets borderline . So, my daughter told me that i should have my BP taken only when i don't feel well , because anyway it's always normal. And she said BP readings depend on what time of the day it is taken . Thus, i don't have my BP taken anymore by that nurse , because i have the feeling he just wants me to get scared because he knows i get frantic when it's borderline .

So you experience similar situations . And when that happens we keep checking it through another reliable person , which is the right thing to do when in doubt , right ?

The mercury one still is the most effective way of determining the BP. if you ran out of batteries or it gets lowbat, the accuracy completely lessens and deteriorates. I still have my old mercury thermometer, i guess no one makes these anymore. I hope you don't experience another highblood pressure.

Yes, the old manual style if indeed the most reliable . However , it also depends on how the nurse is able to read it . That's why , they can err too in their reading , as what happened to me . I actually don't have a high BP . It's always normal . And if it would go borderline , the diastolic , the next day it would go down .

@Letranknight2015 The digital one (we have that at home before ) is a bit conservative . It's a bit higher that your real BP from the manual BP . We discovered that and have read about it .

@SIMPLYD oh I see. maybe in that case, the digital is more advance, just have back up batteries.

I am always on the normal level. That's why when the nurse said that my diastolic is at 90 , i know that it's on borderline . Usually when it's that , the next day it's back to normal . So the consecutive reading that it's that, i got doubtful so i always would have it double checked by another nursing graduate , And i was right, it is always normal .

@cacay1 We should be proud to have a normal BP . Some , even my officemate who is just 22 year old has a BP of 150 / 100 . I told him to consult a doctor so it can be prevented while he is still young . It runs in their family .

@SIMPLYD They say that 'supposedly' because you're at the doctors office you become more stressed and that's the reason for the elevation. Which I think is a crock. Do you have availability to purchase a BP monitor that goes around your wrist? It's put out by a company called Citizen. It's easy to use and you can take your BP any time.

Yes. I was running into that problem with an electronic cuff. It was always higher than what it normally is. The doctor is thinking I might have high blood pressure because it's higher than normal. So I might end up on another medication in the near future. I hope not.

It is said that those electronic one reveals a higher BP . Well, unless that they are not dangerously high , we should not worry . Just do what we should do to maintain them on the normal level .

@just4him I think those cuffs are just playing safe , so they do it conservatively , so that the wearer will be cautioned to do some more movements to lower down their BP .

I haven't really been conscious about my blood pressure until I went to the dentist. They took my blood pressure and they said I have high blood pressure and that I need to be careful now since I'm still young and I already am high blood. I definitely need to get more exercise and change my lifestyl. I hope your blood pressure is stagnant all throughout your life. Kudos~!

Really you are already experiencing high blood at your young age . Then , have you seen a doctor about it , so you can curb it from going up beyond normal ? As of me, i am always on the normal level . So that reading of the nurse for 3 consecutive days that has a diastolic that is on bordeline , was refuted when i would have another nursing graduate take my BP after a while that nurse took my BP . And i was correct , it was normal. So, now i don't have my BP taken because my daughter said i have a normal BP and no need to have it taken everyday . Only, when i don't feel well , she said.

@SIMPLYD Yeah, I went to the doctor and she recommended that I alter my lifestyle so that I could be more healthier and that my BP will go down. But if not, then I would have to take my medication, I'll see her again in a couple of weeks to see if my BP went down. It's great that your BP is normal, with all the temptations of food we have right now it's kinda hard to maintain it. Ha ha. But I hope you be well for a long time. Kudos~!

I really can't tell because he (he is a gay ) is a former nurse at a private hospital . Maybe he hears differently . Or maybe he takes reading conservatively . But anyway , i don't say yes anymore when he asks me if i want my BP taken . If ever i would want to have my BP checked i could let my officemate who is a nursing graduate take it or the pharmacist at Generika where i always buy my vitamins.

That is true . A normal BP reading makes us smile , but a not normal makes us worry instead . Actually , since the company nurse always makes her rounds for BP reading of employees , i also would have my BP taken . It's always normal , except for that past days , which i doubly checked by another nursing graduate and they don't have same reading . So, i just don't have my BP taken anymore , because i know that it's always on the normal level anyway .

There are so many factors that affect blood pressure. Your blood pressure is one I would not worry about at all. If it were consistently higher than 90 then I would be concerned. You should not be worried with that. Perhaps you find the man interesting which has caused a slight elevation!
