I think if we took the United States Government and enlarged it for the whole world and turn the country's into states, then we will have a working world government. What are your thoughts?

I don't think our model is necessarily the best. I think a parliamentary model like the Brits and Canadians have would be much more effective. Our federal government is so moribund and entrenched that it barely works for us anymore. BTW, when are they predicting ice out on the big lake?

@Katja15 The British House of Lords is primarily a ceremonial vestige of history, much like the Royal Family itself, and it is the House of Commons along with the Prime Minister who really run the country. Perhaps a unicameral legislative body like the Israeli Knesset would be more effective. Each party that wins a high enough percentage of the votes gets seats, and the party with the most seats has to form a coalition because no party usually has a greater than 50% majority.

Well, the Brits actually have two houses where one of them is for the old royalty/nobel people(people with titles you know). I don't think that part is a good idea for a governemnt - you shouldn't be able to be "born" to "rule".

Are you kidding?! USA alongside Russia, China and every place with war is the last place I would look for a government role model. How about Canada or Sweden or another place with less racism, murders and corruption?

murders happen all over the world and "racism" is everywhere, i was talking about taking parts of the Constitution and adding to it to fit the worlds need, but good point about the corruption

@zachchandonnait Only taking some parts out would not be using the American government then. Because clearly it doesn't work. And yes, murders happen everywhere - it just so happens that America got a lot more than other countries.
