Is there life outside Earth?

We should look for signs of disequilibrium in the planetary atmosphere. By studying relative abundance of gases like ozone, oxygen, water vapour, carbon dioxide, one could find whether a planet some day could, or even today, support life. Though there is no direct evidence of life outside planet earth, but there are ample hints. How about intelligent life, something akin "aliens"? That would disclose life for sure?
