Some of you informed me that they found my last post depressing, so here is something on a lighter note. I was reading about some funny typos the other day and it reminded me of a comment I received on one of my posts on another site. The post was about a portal or doorway into an imaginary world, and someone said "I'd love to pee through your portal" ! I don't know if she'd left a 'p' or a 'k' off the pee, but I'm sure you understand what she was trying to say. The lady in question is on this site, I wonder if she remembers it. I made an embarrassing mistake myself one day when I responded to a woman's post by saying that she looked fat. Oops - I meant to say 'fit'. Have you made any silly typos?

Typos too many to count. The worst was on a financial report I submitted when I first worked in public accounting. In the signature block where it was supposed to say "Certified Public Accountants," I left the "l" out of "Public."

@jaboUK The partner who went to sign the report got a good laugh out of it, too, since he caught it before it went out to the customer. I'm glad he had a great sense of humor.

Oh yeah, I have made lots of typos, some I spot myself and fix and others are pointed out by other members and then I go back and edit it. And don't worry about your last post. I thought it was a glimpse into some people's reality, and reality isn't necessarily happy, especially homelessness.

@jaboUK I think that your serious side shows sensitivity to those that might have been there or know of someone who is.

@Juliaacv We all make typos, but hopefully we spot most of them before we post them. Thanks for your take on my last post - I can be serious sometimes, and reality isn't always palatable.

In the old myLot when we couldn't edit our discussions I made a discussion about grammar. I spelled it grammer. Great way to introduce my topic I once wrote a message to a friend. I wrote it in Danish, and I wanted to write: "I want to eat a cake". Auto correct changed it and when I sent the message it said "I want to eat a doctor"

@jaboUK In Danish cake is kage and doctor is lage. The words are spelled almost the same way, but the meaning is very different

@Porscopino Oh that grammar one really was an 'oops', considering the subject matter. Auto correct is guilty of a lot of boo-boos, but it makes you wonder how cake became doctor.

I made one this past week, and I tried to correct it when I saw it, but it seems we can't edit 24 hours later. It wasn't really funny, but I was trying to say work but it came out word.

@just4him Yes one letter can change the whole meaning, can't it? ( I'm sure I've edited things outside of the 24 hour period. )

To my knowledge you can still edit even after that much time has passed, Valerie, but I'll go and check that out to see.

Well, Valerie, I just left a comment here and said I'd test your theory, but now I see my comment didn't 'take' after all. I just edited a post from the fourth of this month and tagged you on it. You don't have to visit it if you don't want to, but I did that tonight just after 1am and it's two weeks old as of the 14th.

I make them all the time. If I catch them before I submit them, then I correct them. I have seen some posts I have done that did have errrors, so I went and edited them and corrected them. I am sure the ones reading them wondder what I am trying to say. I wondered about them too, as I coulldn't figure out what I was trying to say.

I have made many! Sometimes I can take all the blame, other times it's due to my autocorrect. It pays to reread one's post, before hastily hitting that respond icon. But no big deal. We're all friends.

They're easy to make and you can end up with some very funny results. I often put 'wee' instead of 'see' as the s and w are so close.

@JudyEv It's understandable when the letters are close together, but I had no such excuse with the a and i. And no, it wasn't a Freudian slip, as she really is quite slim!
