Easily Diverted

Philippines
March 12, 2016 3:19am CST
So, I usually work in our dining area (for the lack of work space) and it is just next to the living room wherein the television is switch on all day long (yes, my dad watches TV all day, everyday). At times, rather than increasing my mylot discussions, I get distracted because of a news or movie that is on the television. Any suggestions how to get over this? or if you are in the same situation as I am, what do you think we should do?

I am used to this. My ear are trained enough not to hear the TV volume anymore. My daughter wants her Doraemon all the day. :)

there is another room that I can use but because of the heat, I do not want to stay there.

You can wear ear plugs so that you can concentrate on your work and do not get distracted.

If you get easily diverted then you just have to work in the confines of your bedroom instead . I like myLotiing while the TV is on , in our bedroom . I will look at the TV if i hear something interesting .

to be quite honest, at times the TV can be an advantage especially if you are looking for a topic to write about and you are running out of ideas :p I do not like crouching in our bed because I do not have a table there :(

@funkeyguhl What i do is prop up in bed with my head on the backrest of the bed while my netbook is at an e-table in front of me . And now that it's mobile friendly i just do it in my old iPad .

i tried doing that but I also like being in the dining area because it has a table and it is easier for me to work in one.
