IGN has some issues with Ubisoft? When you see this title, you might be thinking why, Right? I feel so because of their rating for Ubisoft’s games. They give very low rating to what it actually deserves. My favorite video game developer is Ubisoft. Now you will be thinking I am biased. But no. I am actually saying this with my personal research. No matter how many awards it gets, IGN’s rating of Ubisoft would be always low. My favourite video game is Assassin’s Creed series. I always enjoy playing it. Sometimes I even repeat the games 4 or 5 times. IGN was my favourite critic. I always used them for reviews of all games. Now I use it for most games except Ubisoft’s. According to me all Ubisoft’s game should get more rating. Recently they gave Far Cry Primal 7.9. It should get at least 8.5. Given below is a list of Assassin’s Creed games and their rating by IGN/ my rating. AC1 7.5/8.2 AC2 9.2/9.8 AC bro 8/9.5 AC rev 8.5/9.2 AC3 8.8/9 AC4 8.5/10 AC rogue 6.8/9.2 AC unity 7.8/7.8 AC syndicate 8.2/9.6 So, the only ones I agree with are unity and liberation (not included as it is not a main game). Now I continue to look IGN’s reviews, but to only see their low rating. Gamespot is a good critic. Their reviews are justified. Most of the Cons they listed matched the cons in my mind. They gave GTA5 a rating of 9, which is exactly what I would give. I once again want to say theat I am not biased. These are my unbiased opinions. Many of the gamers think like this too.

I do think that IGN is giving out 'reasonable' ratings to all games based on a survey they conduct and not of the general media's take on the game itself. So some are pretty high and some are pretty low. I noticed that games with a straight story plotline with an ending has lower ratings than ones with open world scenarios like GTA franchise and the Skyrim franchise. I love the Assassin's Creed series as well but since it is story driven, most users will only play the game once or twice before moving on to the next series and probably won't play the first one for a long time unlike in GTA and Skyrim where there are mods and encourages users to explore the open world. That's just my opinion though. Kudos~!

That is true, most of us dont like to play story-driven games more than twice. But I've played BF and 2, more than 3 times. It never gets old. But, it's not only for AC, Far Cry 4 etc.
