Apple or oranges from the store or from a tree? Ok weather you live in the area were orange trees or apple trees grow would you go to the store if have a way to pick your own apple or oranges from a tree? Me I rather Pick it from a tree then get it from a store. Why? one in the store you do not know how many of people have touch those apples or oranges. So on the tree there less human touch. Yes there might be animal touch but we know today that a lot of animals are cleaner then humans today.

For practicality, I will harvest my own fruits than buying in the supermarket. As you mentioned, we don't know if some fruits are also fresh or clean in terms of being touched by other people.

@eagletrek2,I would like to pick them directly from trees, but the fact is that there are no apple or orange tree near my house. So I have no option other than buying them from the market.

I have lived in a house where I could pick oranges from my own tree and never when living there would buy any from a store.

If they grow on my area, I will definitely prefer the ones from the trees. My alternatives for oranges would be tropical citruses like calamondins, ugli fruits clementines and tangerines. Apples dont grow in the tropic, the closest thing I can have as an alternate would be a Guapple or apple sized guava. They tasted similar to granny smiths.

@eagletrek2 I do buy apples and oranges from the store though but if I want to have organic fruits in the backyard, Tropical fruits are my only option. I just harvested some tangerines. They tasted similar to orange but less sour and fragrant.
