What do you think about the news channel on TV ?

Everybody will know those most popular TV news channel such as CNN news. BBC news, CNBC news since they are recognize as international known channel. but when we talk about the local TV news channel , people will have different opinion towards their local one. I think the TV news channel in my city is quite extreme. one would always report news according to the government standard. The other would try to be fair and expose more on different angles. by do so, it will sometimes against the government. Overall the news in each day are always report on negative things about the society such as crime, accident, tragedy and things like that. It is hard to find any good news that will cheer people up in my city. So, sometimes just make people don't feel like to watch it. How about your city or country ? Share with us ?

It is depressing to watch the more local news. It comes from the cities, two hours away , and everyday they report on people getting murdered or people dying in car crashes. It gets depressing. I try to keep my watching it to a minimum.

Yes, you are right. It is quite similar to our city. We live in a city where we almost feel nothing about all those murder, car accidents and all kinds of crime or lost life issues around us . Because the news report things like that day by day, year by year. It really degrade our human value and this truly a sad story with new s channel like that. The mass media seems to be indirectly encouraging crime in the society when it always report on things like that. I wonder if they can report more on interesting things of this world and the positive stuffs in this world. It may also be better for this world since this world is full of tears each and everyday in different parts of the world. I think this world need more love and happiness. The news channel need to do better in this area.

I live in chandigarh , india ..we are called the city beautiful and our news channels explore the positives sides more frequently...though negatives are also there but they are over powered by the positives. .i love watching our local news channel

Almost all the time something bad happens. Murders, car accidents..Too much, really. But, i guess it is their job to report all that, but i think also that they should report more positive news instead of those.
