I am thankful to live so close to the beaches!

Recently I was talking to a friend who moved to a state she calls "the middle of no where" because the closest beach for her to travel is 2 hours away. I live in Southern California and beaches are all over. I have yet to visit them all, but one day I would like to visit and explore more beaches! There are even hidden beaches that photographers visit that I'd love to visit too! The nearest beach to me is literally only 15 minutes away. I visit that particular beach very often ~ enough to purchase a yearly parking pass which reminds me that my boyfriend/I will need to renew next month! Back to my topic - I never really thanked the fact that I live so close to the beaches! I am looking forward to Summers at the beach having a picnic. I don't like to swim in the beaches though - just the beautiful views, ocean breeze, fresh air, and especially during Sunrise/Sunset. Are you thankful for any form of mother nature in your area?

Not only the nature in the area. But all the natural things attract me. Beach, shore, woods, cool breeze, rain, water resources......literally they all are wonderful.

Oh yes ~ Earth in general is a blessing! If only we had more rain here though because we are in a major drought.

@adelevans It is getting hotter than usual for California. And also colder too. We are experiencing more rain just not enough to get us out of the drought. I agree climate is definitely changing!

15 minutes to the beach? That's really near! I am never very near to the beaches, but now I am blessed that at least the nearest beach is about an hour drive away, which is still considered near to me. Yes, though I am staying in the city, I am always thankful for having a big park and playgrounds in the neighborhood, just within walking distance. So, I can bring my children to the park every day.

@infatuatedbby Yes, that's one of the main reasons we bought this house, as I was attracted by the park. But, I didn't really go to the park until I have children. I used to go jogging in the morning on my own, and I have always been thinking if I stay here until I am old, perhaps I'll always spend time jogging or walking in the park until I am an old lady. It's such a nice feeling.

Oh yes 15 minutes maybe a little less and to quite a handful of beaches. There are more along the coast ~ 45 mins, 1 hr, 2 hr, theres a lot. Hehe. But yes ~ 1 hour is still lovely. That is great there are walking distance to parks and playgrounds - perfect for your kids. Thats a must have amenity of children.

@kaka135 Hehe you are no where close to being an old lady - but that is great you will have lots of uses for the park. Must love that amenity and fresh air too.

I would think it'd be a little cooler if you lived by a lake though ?? But I think it is due to the humidity? But I bet the view is gorgeous!

I live by the beach and thankful for it. I enjoy swimming and fishing when I was a kid. Now I enjoy fresh seafoods for cheap prices and sometimes for free.

Beautiful ocean view. I live very far from the beach or from a scenic mountain view. I am thankful though that even if i live right in the middle of our city there are still a number of large tress in my neighborhood.

@infatuatedbby There are no more spaces to plant new big trees in our area. It would not also be safe to plant trees near our houses espacially during super typhoons or earhtquakes.

I love beaches too. Ours are about a 40 minute drive away, so not too bad. Apparently, here in NZ most places are within a tow hour or so drive from the sea. I love our local river for walking beside too.

Yes a 40 minute drive to the nearest beach isn't bad. Better than no beach. I could not live without visiting the beach or river. It's just too lovely to not have that!

I grew up 5 miles from a beach here on the North Carolina coast and often wish I'd never left. That is probably one reason my books are all about growing up on the Carolina coast.

@infatuatedbby I left when I graduated high school, thirty-seven years ago now. I moved back to NC twenty-one years ago but settled in a town about ninety minutes from the beach.

I lived most of my life in New Jersey - an hour's ride to the Jersey Shore. Now I live in land-locked TN and do miss the ocean and the salt air. But we have the mountains to the left, the Cumberland Plateau and to the right the Smoky's and Blue Ridge. If I try real hard and close my eyes I can smell salt water once in a while LOL!

That is nice that you live close to a beach. That is nice to wake up and look out at that all that water. I love the picture of you. I grew up in Minneapolis and we were known for our lakes and I had a favorite one and brought the picture with me to Israel. I used to love to ride my bike around the lake.

The beach is heaven to me infatuated. I am in awe of your lovely beach there and you look so lovely friend. I used to live right only 50 steps from the beach up North. I miss it so. Here I am thankful for the abundance of sun we get even though it is in the middle of nowhere not by the sea that I love. Also I am grateful for the no humidity factor.
