Living as an owl

I'm a night bird and recently I can't sleep much at night. Going to bed at 9 am in the morning and waking up at around 3 pm... Sometimes I find it difficult to turn my routine to the "normal" when I have important stuff that has to be done early. What I do is pass through a day without even sleeping and then catch up sleeping 15 hours or so.

I barely sleep at night and sometimes end up compensating with involuntary afternoon naps

@arthurchappell I rarely take a nap in the afternoon, even if I'm really tired. That usually breaks my everyday routine. But it happens sometimes.

@Marty1 If I take a nap, that usually means I'll miss sleeping at all the whole next day. It breaks my whole routine. I don't know why. I used to sleep more before, but now I always find something more interesting to do.

Hi, @Lusye28! I've been an owl since 2006 when I started working in call center, now in BPO. I'm used to it and can no longer sleep well at night during my rest days.

@Lusye28, yes. I used to take calls the whole shift, 7.5 hrs but it's different now. I'm working in BPO, Business Process Outsourcing. This is usually mistaken for a call center but this is different. We support business accounts and we work with different departments in the USA. We seldom take calls. The job is mostly processing orders. This is fun though we're always swamped.

@wittynet I was working in two different call centers until I started to hate it. It bothers me now even if my personal cell phone rings. I'm glad you found a better job.

@wittynet Oh, were you taking night shifts at the call center? It's a stressful job, at least for me, of course, depends on how busy you were with the phone calls. From what I know, most of them are really busy.
