Raw Milk or Pasteurized and Homogenized?

When I was pregnant with my kids I went to a prenatal class. The nurse said NEVER feed your children raw milk. The funny part of that was there were two big muscular guys in our class...they were both raised on raw cow milk. I breastfed my children each for four months and then put them on formula for a year. After that they started drinking processed milk at home, but when we visited my inlaws on the weekend at the farm, they drank lots of raw milk. Both my boys are healthy and strong now in their teens. If the cows being milked are regularly tested and have all the necessary vetrinary maintenance, there is no problem with raw milk. My boy's father and all his siblings were raised on it and they are fine too. As babies when they were weaned they never had processed purchased formula. Their mom boiled the cow's milk and added honey. I think people who have access to raw milk should take advantage of it, for children who are over a year old and anyone older than than. I believe the dairy industry pushes pasteurized products to make more money. They have to pasteurize by law to sell it.

cow - cow
I know what you mean, I was raised on milk, the baby of my 9 was on raw milk as we lived on a dairy farm, and for him being the littlest one when he was born( 4lbs 4 oz) he is the biggest of all of them for the age,( he is now 16 months and wears a 2t clothing). I see nothing wrong with raw milk, I loved the taste of it, I drank 2 gallons of it a day myself. Don't forget to shake it up fist though otherwise your gonna have a ton of cream in it,(skim it off for coffee yummmmmmy)

Thanks for replying. I like the cream for butter or for whipped cream. Did you know you cannot whip or churn fresh cream to the right consistency. It has to be a few days old.
