Well, when the Bingo was a disaster for my aunt the other day, I took her to Golden Coral to eat lunch. She seemed to enjoy herself and kept going back to refill her plate at the Buffet. She ate all sorts of stuff like fish, vegetables and even ice cream cone. She misses going out to going out to eat every day with her husband and their deaf friends. She was no longer cooking at home, because of their love for visiting with friends and doing activities outside the home. It is hard for her to move in with my parents because they do not go out to eat much. My aunt and uncle had more money just to blow then my family does. My husband and I do not go out every day. We are doing good if we go out once a week, and a lot of weeks we do not do that. I think it 's hard when you have to move someone else in your home, and they have their ideas of how things should go. She doesn't have any responsibilities, so she want to have fun all the time. My family and I are covered up in things to do, and bad health. We realize every minute of the day cannot be spent having a good time.. as my aunt puts it. My aunt does go to be eighty years old.

I know how difficult if can be to take someone at home. Different habits, different ideas and views are not easy to manage. Does she live all the time with your parents now? It's must be hard for them.

Yes, she live full time. It is extremely hard on everyone, especially my mother. My mother was telling that if she puts things where she can find them, and comes back for them they are gone. My aunt will be moved it and put it somewhere else. You are right, it is a big adjustment.

It can be very difficult to take someone in for all the reasons you mention. Maybe I missed a post. Is she living with you now?

She lives with my parents. We all have to help out with her, because none of us are in good health. My parents live about five minutes away from me. I take my aunt out so she can have a good time, and trying to help her make friends around here. She spent 57 years living about 3 hours away from here, so this move is hard on her. She left her friends back home, and had to move here after her husband passed away and she took a fall that broke both legs. It is hard to live along at eighty years old and in a wheel chair. It is a big adjustment for all of us.

@JudyEv Thanks! It is hard, but she is a good lady. She had no children, so we all she has.

Your aunty and her hubby are fortunate to have money to spend having fun .. But yes, it would be hard to live with people who always want to go out .. it's not practical ..

It is not practical when you only have social security to survive on. My aunt's husband past away last March 30th, and my aunt is having to make a lot of new adjustments.

Golden Corral isn't a cheap place to eat either. I can't imagine it's easy for any of you, but for her to be limited from what she's used to, and having to move home, I can't imagine it's easy for her either.

It is not easy for her, and I do feel for her. My family and I cannot afford to eat out all the time though, because as you pointed out Golden Coral is not cheap. I truly want her to be happy, and enjoy life with us. I think we can have a good time, and still live cheaply.

@slund2041 I am sure with time she will get used to the way you and your family live. Maybe you could try to compromise and go out once a month. That doesn't seem too bad and you maybe can even just make food and go to a park to sit and enjoy nature together. It will get her out more.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yea, I have thought about doing something like that. I have personally took her out, and the next day she is bothering my parents about going out to eat. I will try a picnic lunch with her and see how that works out as well.

As you say, it must be hard for your parents to have someone else in their home, and also hard for the one who comes into the home. There must have to be a lot of adjusting. It was nice of you to take her out.

Bless her! That's a lovely photo of her, and I'm glad you are so kind to her. It is difficult to take care of an elderly person, especially one who lost her husband, friends, and home.

She still like to have her perms and coloring put on her hair at eighty years old. She did go through so much in 2015. I do feel bad for her.

Golden Coral has so much food. It takes several plates to be able to taste it all.

Is she the same aunt of yours who's into adult coloring? She looks strong at that age.

Yes! The same aunt. She dyes her hair, and puts perms in it.
