Tillandsia Air Plant

United States

Succulent, tillandsia, and terrariums are quite the trend now. My sister gave me 4 - tillandsia air plants and I just bathed them in water real quick then dumped the water out (after the photo). This particular air plant requires very minimal maintenance and loves light! I have a glass vase but I do not have any rocks to decorate the vase yet but I will have to go find some. Anyhow - over the weekend, I visited my local hardware store and saw just one single Tillandsia Air Plant (same size as mine) going for $9 each! That's crazy! That means if I were to buy the 4 given to me, it'd be $36 bucks! Photo belongs to me! -Top left/right + bottom left and taken from the hardware store -Bottom right are my plants

Can you breed them? If so you'd be making some nice money Put a girl plant next to a boy plant and let them do their thing

You can! Ha-ha. My sister says when you see another plant growing you pull it out and out comes another plant. I haven't tried yet - but that's what she has been doing. We don't sell it ~ she just gives them away lol.

Your sister must really love you. Mine takes pictures i've taken on facebook and shares it wit her coworkers for ag ood laugh. I"m only kidding, it was just the one and I was making a really stupidly funny expression so I can't blame her. I can't keep plants at all, no green thumb on me.

Ha-ha. We have an age gap like 9 years! I am not the greatest plant keeper either. I have a plant that I've own since I was like 10 in my room still. The plant has been with me for half of my life and it just doesn't die. Even if I don't water it and the leaves will fall... just a little water ~ the plant is strong and healthy. This plant I bought years ago for only $1.98 Lol. now it's big but enough to stay in my room still.. I am surprised the plant still is alive. But my boyfriend is maintaining the plant for me. Ha-ha. I like plants ~ just not enough to maintain them even though this one requires minimal maintenance.

I didn't know about all these plants, but they look pretty nice. It's good especially they require minimal maintenance. I like your plants (bottom right) the most, as they look much healthier.

They're looking lovely with those pink flowers. Low maintenance plants are the best to have. I don't have any plants now but I would get something along the same lines if I had to.

I am not a big fan of planting, plants, etc but my boyfriend is (especially with fruit trees) and so are my parents. Lol. As long as they maintain it, ~ I'll be alright.

This is my first time seeing that emoji face in use! Ha-ha! This is very popular right now - I see them selling even fake plastic ones (of this air plant) for $20 already!

@infatuatedbby it would be a nice challenge if you could propagate them fast and sell for a little less or gift to friends and love ones
