Taking a Visiting Break to Give an Update on my Status.

Last Thursday I finally made it to my accountant with my paperwork for our taxes. Because my husband was in the hospital last spring and then in rehab, I changed our withholding for the year, but I should have readjusted it a bit more than I did. I will normally change it before the winter months when we go down in income and raise it again when we start cleaning windows on a regular basis. Our employer makes it possible to change our withholdings at will. I'm probably the only person that takes advantage of it. Since we had less coming out than the year before it looks like we may owe in taxes for this year, unless I can honestly find receipts that were lost. So, I've spent a good part of this past week looking. I found five hundred dollars in cell phone expenses, and spent time recently going through perks receipts to see what may have been bought last year for our business where we work. The only thing still missing is about six months worth of insurance premiums paid out for our workman's comp for our employees. I still need to get the receipts into the computer, and once I get the needed info from the insurance people, I can enter that in too. Then we'll see where we're at. My accountant told me in order for us to get anything back, I'll need to find two thousand in missing info. I know that I paid for a lot of things with our household money instead of our business check book. Problem with me doing it that way is that I don't take the time to make sure those receipts get into the computer properly. I thought I was pretty good at that, but obviously not. Once I get all that in, I'll meet with my accountant again to see where we stand. IF we get anything back at all, it will take another two weeks to have it deposited in our accounts. So, that my friends is why you've not seen me a whole lot this past week. The images are from the colorfy app on my tablet. The only way I've figured out so far to get them onto my computer is to send them to my email. I have uploaded one directly from my tablet in the past, but first it has to be stored in the right place, and that isn't an easy accomplishment yet. It's the same coloring page, but it has different filters and borders. The second one is a washed out look with a filter some of which are: bricks, crocheting (I think), jeans, and other options.

the tax returns activity sounds horrendous - hope it gets sorted out OK soon.

@MarshaMusselman sounds a frightfully complex tedious process

It's a bit difficult, but it wouldn't be as bad as it is if I didn't have this place to while away my time in rather than getting at it and getting it done sooner rather than later. Hoping to complete everything but maybe the insurance figures unless those come in today too. Then I should be able to just call my accountant with the new figures. But, it shouldn't take very long if he has openings in his schedule.

@arthurchappell It wouldn't be so tedious if I'd tackle it each week instead of having to hunt things down at years end. I'm hoping to get better at it as I go, we'll see whether I do so or not.

I hope you find it all so you'll be able to get back instead of needing to pay in. I like your coloring pages.

I ended up doing much better than expected especially since I never did find the two grand, but it still worked out somehow.

Marsha I hope you can fix your tax problem and get the refund. I have received our tax forms two days ago, what a great idea to send them just before Easter. I plan to prepare everything the next week, I hate to fill forms. I like the colors of your photo.

Thanks, Anna. I usually forget one thing or another when I go to the accountant, but this time I missed things that take a bit longer. They wouldn't take as long if I'd stay away completely from this place, and I hope to hang here for a little while longer and then work on my bookkeeping to get that done. I'll be paying a bill or two too and maybe back later before or after I spend time with my mom making sure she eats supper.

I love your drawings. My husband had a business mind. He saves all recipts and asks me for mine when he sees I am buying art supplies. We have an accountant for our home based businesses and our selves. She has been doing it for years and I have no idea what it takes but I LOVE HER..

I have an accountant, but I only can afford to pay him for year end stuff, putting it all together. I take care of the paychecks, paying taxes to federal and state for those employees, and getting everything ready for the tax man. When something is missing, it's up to me to find it.

I found enough to make the needed difference and received all my money already. Now to save it so I can pay my mortgage earlier than normal for me.

It's a free app if you enjoy coloring but don't have a lot of time or don't mind doing it on a device. Taxes would be much easier if I'd stay away from here and before this bubblews in order to keep up with my bookkeeping on a regular basis. It's because I wait too long that they become more difficult to find what wasn't put in the correct places.

Thanks on both. I don't know that it will come to the two grand, but if it's at least close and we break even at least we won't owe anything, but this time of year we get behind in bills, so if I can at least get three hundred back that will help some. The hard part is in getting my insurance people to respond to my queries. I'll try them again tomorrow.
