Random Word Post – surrey

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “surrey – A vehicle having two seats facing forward and sometimes a top. From Surrey, England.” They have a diagram with this definition of an old time horseless carriage with big wagon tires and two seats. The kind that probably topped out at the unbelievable speed of ten miles an hour, which – oddly enough – was probably also its best safety feature. I’m guessing a lot of these were built in Surrey. It’s funny, a lot of those old time cars were electric, running on a battery. Seems we’re slowly going back to that.
