Glory was left behind
Only a poor carpenter and his child bride for parents;
Oh, He gave up so much to come
Down to Earth, knowing He was here
For one purpose. He experienced
Rejection, pain, and ridicule
Instead of the praise and honor that He
Deserved--but He would have gone through it
All--even if the only person who came to know His salvation was
You.

...have to skirt and write... ?
The "words popping into my head" often happens to me when I see things, too. :)

Just a suggestion, Bold the first letter of each line so people will see the acronym of the acrostic better. It will enhance the presentation of your awesome poem.
