Easter is the Reason for Christmas

For most people Christmas is their favorite holiday. We know businesses love Christmas and store hours increase tenfold so we can shop anytime we want. However, are you aware we have Christmas because we needed Easter? Yes, we need Easter. God promised Adam and Eve a Savior back in the Garden of Eden when they disobeyed him by eating the fruit and plunged the world into a state of unalterable sin. Unalterable except for one small thing - A Savior. Genesis 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV) John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (KJV) All the wonderful verses we memorize for Christmas have fulfillment in the cross. Without the cross, Christmas would be just another day, or no day. It would be meaningless. However, Jesus was born for one purpose only - to die for you and for me. John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. (KJV) Have you heard Jesus' voice? Have you accepted Him as Savior and Lord? Today the world celebrates Jesus' crucifixion. Almost his last words from the cross were It is finished. Then he looked up to heaven and said, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. It is finished. The unalterable state of our sin was pardoned on the cross through the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son. We are cleansed, made whole, and God sees us as Not Guilty because the blood of Jesus Christ covers us when we accept him as Savior and Lord. Have you accepted your need for a Savior? Are you washed in the cleansing blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus, your Savior? If so then you know the reason for Christmas is Easter. I serve a risen Savior. Do you? Thanks for reading.

It's really too bad Easter isn't celebrated as much as Christmas, considering what Jesus did for us.

@Lucky15 It isn't just your traditions, people do not realize the full scope of the real meaning of Christmas was in the cross. If they did, Easter would be more than what it is.

Jesus is the reason for both seasons. Without one there could not be the other
