It is not easy at all! But once you establish a balanced routine of good food, adequate exercise and enough sleep- which you are determined to follow religiously, success is guaranteed. For us as South Africans, we have the South African Food Based Dietary Guidelines which give detailed messages that encourage a healthy lifestyle! Now that is golden.

@ntobekodo I'd advocate a bit of pressure. I have no clear idea what that could be but I'm sure something can be found.

@MALUSE for a country like ours, a lot more effort needs to be put in. For example, most of us basically eat to survive! Healthy eating is almost taken as something for individuals who have a more disposable income. On that note, healthy eating programs that are based on the FBDG involve more activity. One has to create the perception of fun around it and be very hands on so as to see the whole thing through. It needs passionate individuals as it is not quite a lucrative career path however, I see the need and I really don't mind getting my hands in mud simply to educate those that do not have access to what I have been exposed to - an at least decent education.

Sadly not. However there are programs in place that continue to encourage as many people as possible to familiarize themselves with them.
