Pork and Beans

Lunch time already here in Manila and I'm forfeiting the usual lunch time feast and sticking with a cup of rice and my favorite canned food - pork and beans .
Not the healthiest meal mind you but hey, it's a personal favorite so I'm happy. Sometimes, you make decisions in life that make you happy - regardless if it is good for you or not! Whoa! Some deep musings there for a random post about pork and beans! Anyway, there is a Weezer song to serve as an aural accompaniment as you think about what your favorite canned food is. The title of the song, you guessed it, 'Pork and Beans' While you are it, might as well mention your favorite Weezer song. Please mention it in the comments section below.
One thing that has bothered me with pork and beans is the apparent lack of pork. I mean, it pork and beans we only get one small piece of pork? What's up with that? So I did some internet sleuthing which is basically typing out the question and letting Mr. Google answer it for me. As it turns out, the pork added in pork and beans melts during the processing of making pork and beans. The pork in 'pork and beans' refers to the flavor and not the actual meat. Who would have thought of that? I certainly did not.

Pork and beans I used to hate. 
But my taste buds changed when I was in my teenage years. However, I could never eat that with rice. As an appetiser, yes.

I am not a fan of pork and beans myself. I hope you enjoy your lunch.
Oh and the image you are using (not sure where you got it) but the template is the same as the Heinz brand can of beans.
Heinz Beans in Tomato Sauce. I don't have a can or I'd show you what I mean, but those are my favorite beans.

About the picture, I got it from Pixabay, if I'm not mistaken. Familiar with Heinz, but this photo kinda reminds me of Hunt's.

@allen0187 I promise you it's a heinz brand item... Heinz and Hunt's could both be a part of ConAgra foods though...

I would never go for beans that only have pork flavour. You got me into craving for pork which I have not eaten in months. Shall plan for that soon.

That's why I call it "beans and beans!" Yes, there is only a small piece of pork in it. It contains protein anyway.
