Definitely Not Bored Games

Maddy loves board games. She loves the challenge and she loves to win. Sometimes she has friends over to play them. Sometimes she loses. Sometimes those friends are never seen or heard from again. Bad Maddy! ;)
My husband and I like to play board games. We have a huge collection. I will note that a lot of games of today have instruction manuals that take an hour to read! They are not the simple games of yesteryear (although I love classic games too). The two games we played most recently were Codenames and Mysterium. Do you play board games? Which are your favorites and why?

I love the crochet dolls, do you make them?
I don't always play board games, but I enjoy playing whenever I have a chance. Yes, they are definitely not bored games at all. My children like to play board games, so I always find and make some simple board games for them to play. It's a fun activity for family.

@madcrochetlab I think it's a fun activity to play with friends. Playing with kids is fun too, but they just might not follow the rules and create their own. Before I created games for them, my children have already designed many games on their own, so I just let them do it and follow theirs.

Thank you! Yes, I make the dolls in my photos. I don't always play board games either - it is hard to find the time. Fortunately, we have friends who enjoy them too so sometimes we get together with them for dinner and to play some games. Playing them with kids is fun too - they come up with so many ideas of their own! :)

@kaka135 Oh, I know what you mean! My great-nephew is very good at making up his own games! I try to follow along with him but sometimes the rules change along the way! Hahaha! But I have to say, he is very good at playing established games too and he had memorized the pictures on a lot of cards in a card game I played with him before he could even read so that he played better with me than his older sister did! Their minds are amazing!

@kevin1877uk I totally understand that. It amazes me that I sometimes have to plan ahead in order to be able to try and plan a board game with my husband but some things in life have to come first!

We play cards and dominos more but we do play board games. I like good old Scrabble , Clue, Qwirkle, Racko, Password and Trivial Pursuits.

I like dominos too! I'll need to pull that one out soon. And Qwirkle! OMG - that one is so fun! When I have to explain that one to people I tell them that it's like Scrabble but with colors and shapes instead of letters, LOL! It's a great one and I like all the others too! :)

@Gina145 You may just have to pull a Saturday afternoon finger foods and board game time! LOL. I know it's hard to fit in and there are important things in life that come first. But I bet you will enjoy yourself if you do! ;) I don't watch much on television there are only two or three shows I really like so maybe it is easier for me.

I know what you mean. I've been trying to plan a night every 2 weeks where we can play some games after dinner rather than just plop in front of the television. It's not easy, but we have a big collection and I feel it is a shame we aren't using them more so I will keep trying. Scrabble and Monopoly are classics! I love them - hope you can find some time soon to enjoy them! :)

I do love Monopoly still after all these years - so many fond memories of playing it as a child with my cousins. And I LOVE Trouble - but I cannot play it with my husband because when he lands on one of my pieces he is mean and bonks my piece right off the board! LOL

How did you get such a tiny little game of life? I love playing that when I was young. I love the make character in this photo.
