Do you consider your job a real job, or not? My uncle keeps saying that my job is not a "real" job because I work from home. I keep saying to him that I guess the hours I do is for nothing and is in vain. I do get paid.

I was a a banker before and it's a real job for me. Don't listen to your uncle, anyway, your are being paid of your work. That's the most important.

Sites like myLot and Swagbucks and chatabout are not a real job to me, but Textbroker is. If I work it enough. I guess it all depends on how you organize the work you do. Where else do you get paid?

@JESSY3236 Thanks for the input. Yes at least some of them I would consider a real job. It is hard for people around us to respect our time that we do work and earn. But oh the bills it pays or the gifts it buys are certainly real.

I think we are in the modern world. Some elders cannot understand this kind of job. In fact, I also earned more money than my previous regular jobs.

Uhm... if the internet shuts down completely, then there must have been a calamity of catastrophic proportions... If there was something that major happening in the world, there very easily would be no jobs for anyone, online or off. (shrugs!) Just sayin'.

REAL job is good but for only socializing purpose. In case of work from home, it is good while saving money phase. lot of money is wasted on transportation and outside eating. I think real job is good if you are extrovert.

I have worked with my husband all my life and we worked from an office inside our home. Of course we considered it a real job.

Well, I suppose that depends on how well you get paid for what you do... For example, do you make enough money to live on your own, or do you make enough to fritter your money away while living with someone who supports you? Can you afford even a basic apartment by yourself, buy your groceries and pay your utilities without outside assistance? If you are self-supporting, then yes, I would call that a real job. If not, then I would have to know more about you and how you work before I made a judgement call on it. Sorry, I know what answer you were hoping for, but I can't honestly say with the information I know about you right now. This is probably not the best discussion I could have picked as my first time on your threads.

I've been working from home for 5 months now since I left the corporate world. Yes, I consider it a real job since I still apply my knowledge of the law.
