So gourds, zucchini and squash come from the Americas

I love to read about the ingredients of the food I cook. Today we made the zucchini boats and as I talked about the recipe with Leticia, I wondered why, in my country, they were called "italian squash". The answer was there. Although all squash, gourds and pumpkin come from the Americas, zucchini landed in Italy and it was there that it was developped as we know it know.

This is some good food culture here. I also like doing research about the things that I am activily involved in, not just cooking. I find that we learn a lot this way, the amount of things I have learned more about from this practice I would of never thought that would of done that.
