Happy I Used To Wear Braces

When I was a young girl I had crooked teeth and a crooked smile. So I begged my dad, "dad please get me braces for my birthday. I promise not to ask anything for Christmas and New Year if I get them." That day my dad took me to the dentist and got me braces. I was so happy. Then I realised that braces were painful. So the girl who loves to eat and had a voracious appetite stopped eating for two months. Until she got used to it. After 2 years it was time to say good bye to the fences that guarded my teeth. And now I smile my bestest smile thanking my dad for spending too much for my pearly whites. And those painful wires that hugged my teeth to perfection.

Same here. I had it also for 2 years and it was removed in 2011. Student life. It was my parents who spent for it, like you.

I'm forever thankful for them for my smile. Sometimes I miss having those braces. It's really fun picking colours each month.

@rina110383 My favourite combo was black and yellow. Sometime black and hot pink.

@flapiz I preferred red and blue then. I didn't go for light colors. How about you?

Yes back then it was expensive in the Philippines. It's around 30,000 pesos. That's a big money. I reckon it's even more expensive these days.

Definitely a good investment. I am being teased by my siblings that I'm my parents' greatest investment. Not only with braces but also in terms of studying and being overseas. I hope I'll make them proud.

Awwwww thank you Claudia. A light heart, a touch of confidence, and braces makes a pretty smile.

Obviously the braces worked and the discomfort was worth it.
