Steve Jobs once said that you have to be crazy in order to make it in this world to the level that he did. I have been working on my life constantly and I just realized that reaching the top is one thing and staying at the top is another. Once you reach success you have to also maintain it until it is established and that is when you constantly question your sanity, because it is crazy out here... and guess what? Once it is established you become hungry for more success :) so it's just a cycle of enjoyable insanity.

As long as you can enjoy the insanity . . . Yet, your mind may enjoy it, but your body may not and can react with nervous breakdown, burnout or heart attack to name but a few consequences.

:) you are right and being an average Joe also does the same damage, especially if you are not meant to be there. The debt, quality of food you eat and the conditions you live under are but a few hazards - speaking from experience. So I just decided I might as well enjoy myself, because I might just live long either way.

@ntobekodo You may even live longer if you're not at the top and have to fight to stay there. Top managers earn an enormous amount of money. How much of it can they spend and really enjoy?
