I'm Melllllting!

United States

It's snowing on this fourth day of April in New England. I guess Mother Nature is a little bit late with her April Fool's joke. We haven't had much snow this season so this is a little irritating as I was hoping warm weather would be here earlier. But it's certainly not the first time it has snowed in April here. The good thing is that it should warm up enough so that it will not last long at all. The melting snowman in the photo is a free pattern I offer on my website and was designed specifically for days like today or to make and send as a gift to your friends in warmer climates. There is also a full snowman pattern there. So on a snowy day like today, I will be cuddling up with some crocheting on my sofa in front of the television, which I rarely turn on during the day, but it will keep me company today and maybe I will watch an educational video or two while I work. What types of things do you like to do when weather forces you to stay indoors?

Most of the time when I'm indoors at home seems to be spent either at my computer or watching television though I sometimes bring my bonsai trees inside when they need pruning. I like to keep photographic records of the work I do, and there isn't a suitable place to take decent photos outside.

@madcrochetlab No, I don't have photos of my bonsai trees here. I save those for my blog, which is all about bonsai.

@madcrochetlab Oh, and don't allow yourself to believe that you have a brown thumb. Looking after bonsai trees isn't that tough if you stick to trees that are suited to your climate. Most of them need to live outdoors though, which is one of the things that may people new to the hobby don't realise.

Oh, that's interesting. I love the look of bonsai trees but don't trust myself to have any because I have such a brown thumb. Do you have photos of some on myLot? I'd love to see. I'll have to go check your profile. :)

@Lucky15 I love sci-fi stuff. I will have to look at those authors you mentioned too though - I don't think I am familiar with many rom com books. :)

Honestly I am online all the time. I have told myself I will get back to some sewing and crocheting this year and make Christmas gifts. We shall see.

I think the bad weather and the winters here in New England make it easier for me to be craftier during those times than when it is nice out. I do hope you find some time to get sewing and crocheting again this year if you enjoy it. And of course, I'd love to see you post pics and discussions about it. :)

Maybe. I can't speak for the rest of the globe, but I sure could stand it to be a teeny bit warmer here.

I love the melting snowman I always stay indoors, be it a good or bad weather. Work, sleep, do chores, and read a book.

Thank you about the snowman! So I guess you are not much of an outdoor fan, then. What type of books do you like to read?

@rina110383 Wow! Very different topics altogether! :) You must be treating both sides of your brain by alternating between them. :)

I watch movies curled up under a blanket. I could do chores and I could attack some of my craft projects but I'm so slack.
