What amount of water should you drink in a day?

I have between 8 and 10 glasses of water a day and people say that is too much. How much should you have. What is best forweight loss to have water before, during or after a meal.

Drinking the 8 - 8 oz glasses daily is just enough to keep our bodies hydrated. In order to lose weight, more is needed. Half your body weight in ounces is recommended. If you think about it, it't really all that much more then the 8 glasses you are already drinking. It helps flush out your body. As soon as I stepped up the water and added my system, it came off!
