Hotness Overload!

Philippines
April 5, 2016 2:23am CST
It is summertime in the Philippines and we have been told that we are currently experiencing El Nino phenomenon. With this we will be experiencing hotter summer season than what we are used to. The weather is making me lethargic that it is a must to drink a lot of water to keep myself hydrated. But today, was different because the air conditioner broke down so the high temperature tripled its very unhealthy. What do you think about the world today in terms of this climate phenomenon or changes? What are the measures you do to help protect yourself from health hazards brought about these changes?

I would get a couple of fans and turn them on.

Hahaha a couple of fans would entail large electric bill and I think it would still rotate warm air because its hot. Probably put some ice in front of the fan so it can blow cool air. :)

Our place is very hot today and the worst we have 6 hours power outage from 10 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. I don't like to go outside because of too much heat but staying inside is somewhat we are in the oven, all we have to do is to use hand fan.

Worst time to have a power outage . Your sweat must be dripping but I do hope you have some trees around to provide as a good shade or can bring fresh cool air from time to time.

@ida123 that is very nice and is one advantage of having lots of trees.

@dazzledlady Yes, we have many here. I think if we don't have that, we can't breath and that is one of the reasons why I don't like to cut trees so that we can have cool air.

It is very hot here too. I think after this El Nino is over, La Nina will bring heavy rain and stormy weather. That is equally bad.

I think la nina would worst than el nino because it would bring floods and water borne diseases.

It is also around the hottest part of the day for you there, isn't it? I am sorry that you had to experience heat with no air conditioning. I once had that problem at work, and ti was around 90 degrees farenheit outside already! I hope you can stay hydrated. I try to keep cool as best I can, I can't stand to be too hot, and you are right it's so unhealthy.

Oh people on hot areas like mine would wish to be there and I think people over there would want to trade places for a short while. These extreme temps have its pros and cons.

They are telling us we are going to have a hot summer here as well. I have an Air Conditioner to put in my window, and just stay inside when it is really hot.

What I do in these hot days is to take more shower everyday. I think doing more outdoor activities in the evening and drink a lot of water is good. And I try not to turn on the air-con. I don't like air-con.

Yes, I do drink a lot of water too but it seems that it doesnt satisfy my thirst. I think it would be best for us to stay indoors as much as possible.
