what happened to / myLot

I just saw a picture of a payphone and realized they have all but disappeared from everywhere. I think prepaid cellphones have helped make phones more affordable now payphones aren't needed as much. other things I noticed have gone too like public trash cans on every street, mailboxes on street corners...what else have you noticed that is gone now?

We still have some payphone and no mailboxes have disappeared for the moment. All the trash cans in the public places have been removed in the recent days for the fear of terrorist attacks, it's easy to hide a bomb inside a trash can.
