After seeing a couple of people here on MyLot (@JohnRoberts with Linda Ronstadt and@ FourWalls with Elton John) do Top 10 series', I've jumped on the bandwagon. I was listening to Washington D.C. hardcore band Bad Brains at the time, so that is who I went with. As hardcore as Bad Brains is, they are also very proficient at reggae. "I Luv I Jah" is from the band's classic self-titled debut, and is straight roots reggae, with a touch of dub. In fact, if you've listened to the first three songs in this series, and I hadn't mentioned reggae, I'd bet the house I don't own that you wouldn't think it's the same band. "I Luv I Jah" features the band's classic lineup: vocalist H.R., guitarist Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jennifer, and drummer Earl Hudson. This is a talented band that could have, if they were so inclined, made a career out of just reggae music. They can pretty much out-rock almost any band you pit them against, but man, is their reggae good. "I Luv I Jah" is proof--great reggae from a great band.

It is, isn't it. Sad thing is, every time I've had the chance to see them, they're either sold out (Denver,) or, as was the case when they played Stuttgart, I was working the gate.

I am partial to the reggae Scott. It was a lot of my teenage years growing up around Rastas overseas.
